DTW has over twenty staff, including trainees, based at our Development Park in Phnom Penh. DTW has always prioritised the inclusion of people with disabilities in its workforce. They are equally valued members of the team, contributing their skills and ‘pulling their weight’ alongside their able-bodied colleagues.
Within all DTW projects/programmes, people with disabilities are employed to not only develop and manufacture the products, but also to supervise and eventually manage them. DTW provides full training to the disabled on both technical and social levels. In addition, we aim to encourage an ethical approach to employment in Cambodia and worldwide, with fair pay and good working conditions.
DTW believes that helping to establish local manufacturing constitutes a very positive investment in the economies of poorer countries. Local communities benefit from new skilled jobs. The economy benefits from the retention of capital, which might otherwise end up outside the country.
